The library of CMS has been developed with the latest nautical and engineering books for the officer courses and for the upcoming high level programmes in nautical field. Journals, Marlin audios and CDs' and other IMO referference materials are available in the library. All long term course students can use other College Faculty libraries by showing their Student ID card. A librarian is on hand to help you find materials you need and the College library service is your gateway to the world's information resources. Computing Facilites Everyone studying at the CMS is registered to use the computing facilities. There are networked PCs, on which you may use the link software, such as ROR, Buoy, OOW etc. Every workstation connected to the network has access to the Internet. As we have just started giving this facilities the resources we are providing is minimized but in the next year a new infrastructure will be build to provide you the better service. Laboratory The laboratory is facilitated by nautical, medical equipment and other personal safety equipments to use in different programmes. Simulator room The simulator was built in late October 2002 through the Asian Development Bank lone project and this was built by the "Poseidon" of Norway. This simulator include four student work stations with two visuals and one instructor station. The Simulator to meet the demands laid down by the STCW '95, and intended to provide the practical knowledge, understanding and skills with the following aspects of navigation at an Operational and Management Level; Electronic systems of position fixing and navigation, Radar navigation Automatic Radar Plotting Aids (ARPA) Global system for distress and safety communication Audio Visual Room In this room a multimedia projector, TV, Video, GMDSS live System, live Radar, computer facilities are available to use in different programmes. Chart room Chart tables and updated charts for coastal area and other world nautical charts are available at the room for nautical students. Fire Fighting Centre The fire fighting centre is located at Hulhuley. BA filling machines, Extinguishers, BA sets, Fire horses, nozzles, Fire pumps, Foam and Powder fillings, Fireman suites etc are available at the centre.
